¡Pa’ su mecha, Marimar! is based in the gastronomy of the estate of Veracruz, México, and occurs during the annual Carnival Of Veracruz, which is the most important Mexico’s carnival.

We chose Veracruz gastronomy for those reasons:

1. Mexican gastronomy is considered an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 2010. Also, Veracruz gastronomy was considered a Cultural Heritage of the state of Veracruz.
2. Veracruz was the place of great indigenous civilizations: Huastecs, Otomis, Totonacs, and the mother culture Olmecs.
3. During the colonial era, Veracruz was an important point of commerce, in addition to being the first point of contact with the Spanish that derived a cultural mix impacted in part of Mexican identity.

Game mechanics

¡Pa su mecha, Marimar! is a 2D video game with a top-down view that consists of 3 levels, In this game, you help the waitress Marimar to attend to customers. However, it’s not easy, if you don’t do a good job, you’ll have bad reviews and Marimar won’t be able to finish her work.

By leveling up, you’ll unlock different recipes and you’ll see them in the recipe book.

Veracruz Gastronomy

The game has 3 kinds of recipes: prehispanic, colonial, and contemporary. Each of them has the preparation steps and ingredients on a recipe book, so, you can cook the dish if the ingredients exist in your country.
